PAGE India participated, on 12 June, in a workshop that focused on assessing green public procurement (GPP) in India and exploring opportunities to integrate green procurement practices across key sectors such as energy, transportation, water, urban development, and buildings. Discussions also centred on identifying challenges and charting a path forward for GPP in India.
PAGE India provided insights on leveraging green and sustainable public procurement (SPP) to support climate goals and emphasized the need for an integrated action plan and progress reporting towards SDG Target 12.7.
Organised by the World Bank, the workshop brought together stakeholders from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Railways, Government e-Marketplace, multilateral and bilateral agencies, industry representatives, researchers, and other relevant parties.
