The Republic of Kazakhstan is already experiencing the negative effects of climate change due to its geographical location, continental climate, and the high carbon and resource intensiveness of the economy. To counteract those negative effects, in recent years the Government has set a strategic course towards long-term inclusive and green development.
For the Academy of Public Administration (APA) under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan building the capacity of civil servants to implement the country’s ambitious goals at all levels of government is a priority that requires systemic efforts.
In the current Green Economy Learning Reports, the Academy examines the capacities of civil servants to develop and implement green economy policies. Key learning needs and gaps are identifies and findings distilled. Finally, the report makes short-, mid- and long-terms recommendation for priority actions to support IGE capacity building for civil servants in Kazakhstan.
