Abdoulaye Balde (1974, Kolda, Senegal) is an economist and teaching researcher at the University of Cheick Anta DIOP of Dakar.
He has been Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development since July 2014 and is also Mayor of the City of Kolda.
The Minister presided the first editions of the Green Economy National Days. The event validated the relationship between green industry, national strategy on promotion of green jobs and the parliamentarians’ and environmental and social economic advisors’ advocacy for a green economy.
Previously, he was Minister of Planning and Minister of Agriculture, and also held positions at the United Nations Population Fund and the World Health Organization. Minister Balde is married with two children.
